Ride of your life, Acrylic on Canvas, 2025

Ride of Your Life was inspired by a quiet, unexpected moment on my drive to the studio. I was thinking about the wild journey Moree has taken me on and how lucky I feel for the opportunities that have come with it. As I passed through Boston Street, I noticed a row of pigeons lined up along the roof of a house. One stood out immediately.

This particular pigeon was perched on a whirly bird, being spun around by the breeze. It was impossible not to laugh. Was he stuck there, or was he simply enjoying the ride? Was this chaos, or was it freedom?

That moment stayed with me. The image felt like a reflection of change, of momentum, of being pushed into the next phase of life whether you are ready or not. Sometimes growth feels unsettling. Sometimes it feels exhilarating. Often it is both at once.

This work asks a simple question. When life spins you forward, how do you choose to see it?
